John a été nommé pour sa participation à la chanson Sweet Sacrifice, et devrait être présent lors de la cérémonie, le 10 février. Amy ne semble pas être d'accord car Terry est le seul à avoir enregistré les guitares, et il mérite d'être reconnu. Elle l'explique dans ce message :

"Bonjour tout le monde. Il y a eu quelques fausses affirmations dans les articles que j'ai lu récemment, et je veux juste mettre les choses au point. Faire un disque demande beaucoup de travail, et beaucoup de coeur. Lorsque Terry et moi avons découvert que Sweet Sacrifice était nommée pour "La meilleure performance d'Hard Rock", nous étions vertigineux avec excitation de voir quelque chose que nous avons créé aller si loin. Vous savez tous que Terry a été victime d'un accident vasculaire cérébral après avoir jouer les guitares de The Open Door, et comme à quel point il a été robuste pour vaincre les effets qu'il a eu sur sa performance. Cela fait partie de la raison pour laquelle la nomination nous a touché. Ce prix est pour ceux qui ont joué sur ce morceau, et je voulais donner credit là où il est du. Terry a composé et interprété toutes les guitares sur cette chanson, Will a joué la basse, Rocky a joué la batterie et j'ai chanté. Wind-up records a commis une erreur quand ils ont écrits les artistes de l'album sorti en 2006, et maintenant cette erreur est en train de profiter. J'ai été faire du snowboard toute la semaine dans le Colorado avec quelques amis, dont David Hodges, et sa femme, Kate. Oh mon putain de dieu! (rire). "HI everybody. There have been some false claims in a few articles I've seen recently, and I just want to set things straight.

Making a record takes a lot of hard work, and a lot of heart. When Terry and I found out that Sweet Sacrifice was nominated for "best hard rock performance," we were giddy with excitement to see something we'd created fly so high. You all know that Terry suffered a stroke right after tracking the guitars for The Open Door, and how much strength he's had to have to overcome the effects its had on his performance. This is part of the reason the nomination was so touching to us. This award is for those who performed on the track, and I want to give credit where credit is due. Terry composed and performed ALL of the guitars on this song, Will played bass, Rocky played drums, and I sang vocals. Wind-up records made an error when they listed the performers on the album back in 2006, and now that error is being taken advantage of. You are the fans, you deserve to know who you're listening to, and Terry deserves full recognition for his performance.

I love you guys and I miss you! I've been snowboarding all week in Colorado with some friends, including David Hodges and his wife, Kate. omfg! Hahahaha. It's been a lot of fun and I'm very grateful to have them as friends. If I'm limping at the Grammy's, don't worry- I haven't broken any bones, my butt's just really sore. See you soon!
